Basic sentence

Use

Used to indicate the location of something.

Structure

N1    は     N2   の  うえ   です。

Commentary

A

「N2の~」indicates the position of something with N2 as a starting point.

B

In cases when it is understood what N1 is, 「N1は」is sometimes omitted. (4)
